1. Why do many people think of prostitution as a victimless crime?

2. Discuss several reasons that prostitution may not really be a victimless crime.

Prostitution is thought as a victimless crime because people think that there is no victim involved in prostitution. The sex workers are willing to exchange sexual favors for money, and consent to it. They are doing it without any force and doing it voluntarily for their own livelihood. But, this perception is false.

2.

Prostitution is not a victimless crime, as prostitution is violation of basic human rights. Prostitutes experience rape, sexual assault, physical assault and also may be forced into it by other people. A large proportion of sex workers also show symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder.
