Why do you think many people might be skeptical about psychology being a science?

Many people argue that Psychology cannot be considered a science, claiming that this field does not fulfil the requirements in a scientific method. In Psychology, the results cannot be replicated for the same hypothesis and materials every time. Also, many early concepts in Psychology is more on the side of Philosophy which cannot be proved or explained through scientific method. Also many argue that there is no tangible quantitative data in Psychology; it deals mainly with qualitative data. On of the first approaches in Psychology, structuralism was based on the method of introspection, which cannot be considered a scientific method since it is subjective. The lack of observable data and subjectivity are the major factors that create a notion that Psychology cannot be considered a science.
