Why does biopsychosocial model explain abnormal behavior best and why do I feel this way in essay form.
The biopsychosocial model comprises of three important aspects of understanding behaviour. it includes biological, psychological and social facets. For instance, a person suffers from clinical or major depression. Depression has no direct proportional effect on one's damaged liver. However, depression may involve a person feeling depressed, not having enough social support from family, community and friends may result in them consuming alcohol. Alcohol stimulates the happy hormone, dopamine which results in a person being temporarily happy. In order to stay happy, a person may develop dependency on alcohol which is the root cause for liver damage.
Biopsychosocial model explains abnormal behaviour the best because it focuses on all three aspects instead of individual content.
