Regarding the assessment of addiction, of the two models proposed-psychological and laboratory- which do you think holds more value. What are the pros and cons of each?

Psychological assessment holds more values than laboratory setting in assessment of addiction . Psychological assessment model always helps to properly scrutinized the mental condition of a person and various symptoms also identified like physical , emotional , and behaviour. Psychological assessment more genuine and conduct it with moral values . It helps to understand accurately the causes of addiction and also mental health condition of a drug or subtance taking addiction person.

Pros of psychological assessment :

Psychologist , councellor and therapist as a suplement of to clinical interview.it helps to gathering information efficient and objective manner.it assessment of development in a specific area and to overcome such adverse condition.psychology assessment deals with human behaviour and helps to take decision accurately .

Cons :

Psychological test deals with human behaviour which is constantly changes .so it doesn't have much reliable and valid .

Pros of laboratory:

Laboratory experiment allows the precise effect about independent variable on dependent variable to be measured .This in turn helps to make relationship of cause and effect relationship.

2. In controll condition , laboratory helps to isolated variable more effectively.

4. It also reduce and controll the effect of extrannious variable.

5. Laboratory expriment have a highly reablity due controlled condition.

Cons:

1. Laboratory expriment is lack of external validity. Because it has developed in artificial setting which doesn't show in autheticity.

2. In laboratory setting , we can't solve many practical problem of psychology , sociology , education where open space and environment is necessary to explore the true and accurate , real fact.
