Homework Answers

Answer #1

It is possible to appreciate in cultural exchange. If one does not appreciates he or she is commonly known as Ethnocentric as per the Hofstede. Ethnocentric is the person who does not appreciates the cultural values of others and is focused upon his cultural values only. Outweigh other culture is danger it self. As later the other may point out disadvantages of other culture. Getting acquainted to new culture is just as welcoming new ideas.

The danger is the person may over appreciate other culture , and forget his own culture. Over appreciating can lead to forgetting about own base values and some where later in the life the person would be into question that who is he?

Hence the key is to keep the balance between the cultures. Every culture has some advantages and disadvantages.
