Answer #1

Part 1:

My former employer was Randstad India pvt. Ltd., its a recruitment firm. Being a service industry, the communication is very important. However, after analyzing the communication strategy of Randstad India, I have determined following points:

  • Communication Process: The process used for communicating message within firm is simple and consist of following steps:
    • Downward communication: is majorly used to communicate the new openings, policies and procedures within the firm.
    • Lateral Communication: Members of same level, work groups members communicate with each other.
  • Channels of communication: The channel used to communicate massage within firm are:
    • Formal Communication channel,
    • Informal communication channel.
  • Barrier of communication: Like every organization Randstad India also has some communication barriers. These are as follows:
    • Status difference,
    • Difference in perception,
    • Lack of interest.
  • Methods implemented to over come barriers: In order to make communication process effective . Firm takes following measures:
    • Training,
    • Meetings,
    • Bringing Clarity in message,
    • Creating Understanding between members,

Part 2:

I believe that the communication process used at Randstad India pvt. Ltd. Is effective. Because being a service industry effectiveness in communication is of prime importance. Any gap in communication process can lead to heavy loss in business. Because if openings (vacancies to be filled) are not communicated clearly with deadlines can cause in loss of entire account. Therefore, I can comment that there communication process is effective.

Part 3:

Generational or cultural differences do hinder the effectiveness of communications at times. Both regular meetings and training are the tools that help in overcoming such gaps and making the communication effective.

Part 4:

Other concepts that I believe that can be applied are the implementation of verbal and formal communication must be the only tool that should be employed rather than non-verbal and expression communication.
