Generally, media communicate images of the sexes, perpetuating unrealistic, stereotypical, and limiting perceptions. For example, women are underrepresented leading to a false implication that men are the cultural standard and women are unimportant. Second, the portrayal of men and women is stereotypical, that reflects and sustains socially endorsed views of gender. Third, the depictions of relationships between men and women; emphasizes the traditional roles and normalizes the violence against women.
