In your own words, Is it good to be androgynous? Does androgyny “dilute” one's gender identity? In your opinion, should we as a society work toward eliminating the so-called “gender differences”? Why or why not?
Androgynous people are those that share both female and male characteristics, and maintain a balance between both genders rather than identifying strictly with one gender. Androgynous people do not identify themselves psychologically as a man or woman. They also do not comply with specified gender roles of the society.
A society being gender fluid and without any gender differences is definitely a progressive society. Gender roles and expectations of the society limit an individual greatly in their expression of their true self. People are not completely masculine or feminine, every individual is different. Being able to freely express ones both feminine and masculine aspects gives and individual more freedom and confidence to be oneself as they are.
