Professional identity is creating identity at work place. A man's work life and family life is always different. Following can be the components necessary to create identity at work place. - Improving skills or adding up more and more skills, creating a personal branding , excelling at the job given, creating long term and short term goals, this would also mean avoiding toxic workplace behaviors sucha s gossiping. One of the activity is creating a network with a purpose, One of the main point to remember in professional networks is about limiting our social behaviour, we should remember that these professional networks are meant to built only professional relationships. These days professional networks are not only in person but there are also virtual professional networks, in which one enhances work skills, finds out person with specific job skills/ There are many groups of specific subject area on such networking sites which help in updating knowledge, current trends of the employees, One is able to search the job or any work opportunity due to these professional networking sites.
Membership of any professional networking websites can be very well expensive also, even the virtual ones such as linked in or translator base etc. There are some disadvantages. esp. of virtual sites, one is immediately connected to social networking webites o.r any advt which can be distracting. The information provided can also be a false information. It can not be fruitful as well it can be time consuming as well, it man not show immediate or any results. A person may not focuus on his own strenghts and weakness or likes and dislikes and may follow the herd mentality.
