PRE MARITAL
SEX:
Premarital sex is the involvement in sexual intercourse between
unmarried people. It is been considered as immoral in various
cultures and religions. Now a days, teenagers are also involved in
premarital sex, which is considered to be highly dangerous. There
are various factors that would influence the teenagers to engage in
premarital sex.
- During the adolescent period, these teenagers
are much interested in exploring themselves and they also involve
in high risk taking as well as pleasure seeking activities. Due to
this, they are highly excited and eager to explore the pleasure
that they would attain by involving in sexual activities.
- Infuence of media: Adolescents are highly
influenced by the portrayal of love, intimacy and sex in the
movies, TV shows, sexual videos and other social media. By watching
these, they might also get influenced to involve in such
activities.
- Peer pressure might also serve as an important
cause for teenagers to involve in premarital sex. For example, a
group of friends might get influenced when some of the friends
share their personal experience of sex with their partner, and this
might create an indirect pressure for the others to do the
same.
- Lack of sex education among teenagers might
make them experience strong feelings of desire and interest to
explore themselves with that of the opposite gender. Due to this
they might be easily attracted to the opposite gender, and also
engage in sexual activities.
- Innocence and Immaturity: Teenagers are
unaware about the morality regarding sex, and they might be easily
misguided when someone urges them to involve in sex. Some teenegers
are forced to have sex and they are also threatened to be harmed if
they would deny.
- Moral Values: When the parents does not
provide their children with moral values regarding the acceptable
and unacceptable bahaviors, there are high chances that the
teenagers might involve in sex practices, without actually knowing
that they are doing something wrong.
- Potential threats: These teenagers might
involve in sexual activities without knowing the actual danger
behind it. Premarital sex could lead to the risk of contracting HIV
and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases. In some cases, it could
also lead to teenage pregnancy.
Hence, teenagers has to be morally guided by their parents and
must also be given sex education, which would help to reduce
premarital sex among teenagers.
