Describe for whom the coach works and to whom they are ethically bound; include the ethical conflicts that could exist because of that relationship. Would it depend on the situation? Explain.

As professionals, a coach works first and foremost for the benefit of his or her clients. A competent is one who is able to help clients recognize their goals and them guide them to the best version of themselves. At the same time, coaches are ethically bound to certain professional bodies such as ICF, Association of Coaching or European Mentoring and Coaching Council. It is expected that coaches adhere to elements and principles of ethical conduct and be competent and integrate core competencies prescribed by these bodies effectively in their work.
Ethical conflicts in the coach-client relationship can emerge in certain circumstances. In some cases, coaches and clients share multiple relationships and the power differences can lead to exploitation of either party. Other times, coaches may need to disclose confidential information about the client if it can cause potential harm to others.
