One of the most important barriers that people have towards behavior change strategy/change a negative health behavior is their lack of confidence in themselves that they could change that behaviour. This would mean that they have developed a learnt helplessness thus they would start to believe that they wouldn’t be able to overcome their behavioural problems. Secondly, lack of familial support would force people to develop a sense of hopelessness and leave them without any purpose in living their lives. This would mean that the primary reason is also their lack of family support and care and in the absence of such attachment, people would struggle hard to sustain the behaviour they would like to change.
