Some points to consider.

In 1967 Martin Luther King addressed the APA and this was a speech which implored people who belong to the social sciences to not take the fight against social injustice lightly as they are the ones who study society, it's policies and its various effects on populations.

In his speech he touches upon the Atrocities that the Africans have had to face at the hands of the Americans and he also delineates the ways in which people from natural sciences have contributed to the I'll effects and mass destruction prevalent in the world.

He also went on to explain how people who hail from social sciences are able to see and respect the differences between people given their race ethnicity and background. And he provided context that the same help, care and respect can be extended towards people from his community.
