Answer #1

Police officers are supposed to treat everyone equally and not to take sides when they treat people or when they testify in a trial. The court considers the testimony of the police officers seriously. Police officers are also human beings and they will also at times make mistakes because of their family situation, financial hardships, emotional outbursts etc. At times the chances are there that the police officers may take sides because they might the relation to the one trialled, they might have been bribed and they might have been threatened. So, on this ground, the court might fear that the case might be overturned by the officials.
