Of the instruments thus far introduced for the measurement of hyperactivity the authors believe that the steadiness tester offers the greatest advantages and has the fewest drawbacks. The type of steadiness tester the authors have devised is small and simple enough to be used in an office or clinic setting and is designed to detect the presence of one or more of the following signs which may be present in minimal brain dysfunction: hyperactivity, impairment in sustaining attention, motor impersistence, resting tremors, and choreiform movements.
