The three major sections of biomeical therapy are Drug therapy or psycho therapy - It aims to treat psychological disorders with drugs, it is further more divided into into antianxiety drugs - benzodiazepines, antidepressants - Tricyclics, SSRIs, antipscyhotic drugs such as Haldol which are used to treat mental illnes like schizophrenia. Other two are electroconvulsive therapy - It is the procedure done under severe anesthesia, it causes brain seizures by small electri currents which are passes through brain.Psychosurgery - This involves severing or disabling areas of brain to treat the persoanlity disorder or behaviour disorder.

There are many advantages of psychotherapy. It has long term effect as there is change in thinking pattern, change in goals, the re is built of trust, healing of emotional wounds which bring people of out of anxiety disorder or depression. It helps a person to bring out the his/oher own natural thinking capabilities to fight against the problem.

The person centred therapy also known as client centred therapy takes non-directive form. The counsellor creates such an environment which is non-jedgemental,comfortable and empathetic. It considers unconditional positive regard. This was developed by Carl Rogers. Self concept plays an important role, which is mirror to client's feelings and thoughts.

Insight therapy - It assumes that person's thought, behavior etc beome disordered as a result of individual's understanding of what omtivates him or her or unresolved old conflicts or beliefs. THe main idea behind this is once you see you are the one to control your thoughts, beliefs etc then you can mke the necessary changes. It is said that thie theory has its roots from Sigmund Freud.
