New technologies that have imroved cervical cancer screening:

Technological advancements brought several novel technologies to identify cervical cancer screening in women accurately, efficiently and cost effectively. At present the new method cervical cancer screening test include detection of human papilloma virus (HPV diagnostics), proliferation, and detection of epigenetic changes, either in the host or virus.

The previous test or old test pap smear test was associated with observation of changes in the crevix but in the new test it directly look for HPV which leads to cell changes in the crevix.

New cervical cancer screening can be done once in every five years rather than every two years in old pap smear test, if the results are normal.
