Why do we consider all the work inter exchangeable
withheat in for eg. Gasoline engine
And not account internal energy?
The internal energy is a state function depending on temperature.
For the process in an engine, the work is done by the system. But the temperature would have dropped if heat was not suppiled. As heat is supplied and work is done with that, internal energy is maintained at the same level, that is the change in internal energy is zero.
Therefore, work done and heat are inter exchangeable
