Do you consider yourself an internal or an external? Why is knowing what modality you typically rely on helpful as you consider the world-of-work? How might your personal style impact your interaction in the work-place?

Answer #1

I would consider myself as an internal because I strongly believe that the outcomes of my actions are results of their own abilities. I try working hard to achieve my goals because I believe that this would ultimately lead to positive outcomes. Keeping this is mind, internals need to be matched by competence, self-efficacy and opportunity in the works so that they can experience a sense of personal control and responsibility. If they are presented with unrealistic goals that exceed their personal abilities, they can become neurotic, anxious and depressed.
