1. Energy resolution can be enriched by less ionization produced by per radiation bombardment. then it just not become a good absorber but also less electrical signal will be produced leading to the better detection.

2. Impurities plays a great role in energy resolution of Ge detectors electronically. it disturbs the regular arrangement of crystal matrix. which creates electron traps and lead to lower energy resolution of Ge Detector. from this we can understand that we should use Ge crystal with less impurities. Actually there it is named as HPGe detector ( High Purity Germanium detector ).
