. Is all resistance negative? Why or why not, explain your answer and provide an example using the 5-S model

Homework Answers

Answer #1

all resistance are negative to the direction of motion of particle. Resistance means oppose of motion. If we are taking particle motion then frictional resistance is negative, if we consider electron motion then electrical resistance is negative and same for optical resistance refractive index and viscous drag resistance.

No all resistance are not negative. It depends on the direction which we are considering positive . If we are taking a particular diection postive and motion of particle in negative direction then resistive force will positive ,like motion of electron is alway opposite to electric field means in negative direction ,here resistance will positive.
