Leadership means guiding, influencing, and motivating a group to achieve a common goal. It is the responsibility of the leader to make the group more cohesive and the group members feel inspired and motivated to accomplish the common goals. Effective leadership makes the group more goal oriented, facilitates goal settings and finally enables it to achieve its goals. An effective leader encourages interaction among the group members and promotes cooperation and teamwork between the members. During discussions, a leader shows the member the right direction, encourages all the members to interact, manage any conflicts that arises between the members and exercise high influence to enable the group to take the right decision. Thus he acts like a captain of the ship who steers the ship through troubled water.

An effective leader must have skills and qualities which are demanded by the particular organization. Without those skills, that leader would not be considered as a effective or motivating leader. Following is the list of some skills and qualities that every leader should have to lead in such a way that contributes to the company’s growth.

.Teamwork and cooperation- Working with others toward common goals.

Developing others- Sensing other’s developing needs, improving their abilities, helping them in goal setting through guidance and feedback.

.Inspirational skills- Guiding, motivating, and inspiring individuals and group to achieve their personal, professional, group, and organizational goals.

Building bonds- maintaining and returning relationships.

Change catalyst- Initiating and managing change

Influence- Exercising influence and persuasion over other to take the direct actions.

.Conflict management- Listening openly , talking meaningful and resolving disagreements.

Leadership can be characterised as follows

1. A leader earns trust and confidence of the group members
2. The qualities of leadership depends upon the leader, the follower and the situation
3. A leader always have followers
4. He share strong relationship with the group members
5. Leadership is a continuous and dynamic process.
6. The purpose of leadership is to achieve some common goals
7. The leader shows the way by his own example

Hence, after analsing the advantages and charaterstics of leadeship,It is very importnat for any organisation to focus on leadership concept for the growth and productivity of a business. There are so many objectives of leadeship from an organization point of view. These objectives are determined here-

1. Conflict management- Conflicts management may plays an important role in acceptance of change. Hence a leader or manager may resolves the conflicts by litsening,talking meaningful and resolving disagreements

Hence a leader who already has a knowledge of behavior of their members may take corrective actions to communicate such change for their employees.
5. Sponsor- Leader act as advocate for the change at their level in the organization. They are representatives which keep the change in front of their peers, the higher ups.
6. Motivation- leaders and mangers plays an important role in motivating the employees by their leadership skills so that the employees do not resist and accept the change.
7. Role model- Guiding, motivating, and inspiring individuals and group to achieve their personal, professional, group, and organizational goals.
8. Guiding- Leader helps in guiding the employees that how to manage the change, leader provides the path to the employees which shall opted.
9. Influence- A leader has a quality to influence his team members to take desired actions. Hence the he can influence the member for the acceptance of change..
10. Hold accountable- With their authority, leaders hold people in the organization accountable for the change They uphold agreements and make sure to others do the same.
11. Building bonds- Leaders or managers plays an important role in maintaining and nurturing relationship.
