Mr. A is now in hospice at your facility and a conflict has arisen in that his son reports his father “always wanted to die at home without aggressive treatment”, while his common law partner insists that Mr. A was “always a fighter and always refused to give up”

Now understanding the above situation of Mr A that he is been diagnosed with a rate and aggressive cancer, talking about the cancer which is non curable and unresponsive, means when we talk about the scenario the doctors have defined that the cancer which he is been diagnosed is not going to cure the patient is not going to respond to the medicine which will be given to the patient and it will not be helpful for the patient to get recovered

Talking about his son, who had word with the doctor and understood the whole scenario and has understood that doctors have taken the necessary steps which are required for the person to get cured, however, the patient is not responding and the diagnosed cancer is not curable, so the amount of time, money & energy which will be implemented will not cover up the whole life of the patient hence understanding all the scenarios the son told up the thing which his father always wanted to do, that he wanted to die at his own house.

Now talking about the law partner of the patient, who understood whole thing, but knows how Mr A's personality is, he always admired Mr A as a fighter, means no matter what happened and what the circumstances will be Mr A would use to fight and take out solutions and come up with the whole, thinking about his the partner wants to continue the treatment by updating the doctors to take one try might Mr A respond and this positivity help for Mr A to recover.

Now thinking about ethics scenario lets understand the first 3 scenarios

• The principle of respect for autonomy
• The principle of beneflecence
• The principle of nonmaleflecence

Lets consider the first scenario principle of respect for autonomy, as this explains that each and everyone should respect the persons thinking, as in the given case Mr A told his son that he always wanted to die at home, so the son while understanding the whole situation from the doctor, decided that he should respect the thing which his father wanted to do, that he wanted to rest in peace at his house, so son confronts the doctor and informs him that he wants to respect the thing which the father had told him and will take his dad home where he can rest and die happily

The second scenario is about principle of beneflecence this means talking about the lawyer partner who is talking to the doctor and saying to him, that he predicts the hope that Mr A would react and get cured, as he has seen the positive attitude of Mr A in past which is a never to give up atttitude, this is the pillar which the partner saw and was thinking that Mr A would respond and will turn up back, however, he also was thinking about taking this decision without hurting Mr A as hurting someone should not be the motto which can make the person feel about it.

Now saying about principle of nonmaleflecence its a corollary principle that no harm is to be given to the patient and the risk of the harm should not turn up to the family members as well, so keeping in mind all these scenarios all the decision pertaining to the health of Mr A was to be taken up. This decision was to be in the favor of Mr A as well as in the favor of his son as well as both should be benefited and not to be harmed to others to the level that both suffered.

Thinking about the management, need to decide and do the analysis to what extent the person can adopt the treatment in medical terms is the patient able to cope up with the medicine given to the patient and suggested, it should not be to the level which is harming the patient as well as the family, the management needs to decide as they are more experienced in understanding about the patient will cope up or there are chances of the patient to cope up, if the chances are not their than the management should take the decision and move on with the things and release the patient rather than making him suffer.
