The various settlement patterns plays an important role in the establishment of colonies and it's cohesiveness. The colonies are divided into northern, middle and southern parts. The north colonies include Connecticut, Rhode island, Massachusetts and New Hemisphere. The middle colonies include Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware. The southern colonies includes Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia. As the Eastern America is closer to Europe, it stated concentrating on the Eastern part. Later, gradually it started getting towards the northern and southern parts to get the advantage of climate. The most favourable climate among all is in the southern part and the climate is perfectly suitable for agricultural purposes. The southern part is mostly used for the trading of crops and for economic prosperity. As the middle colonies is a mix of diversity such as Dutch, Swedish, Scotish-Iris, English, French etc. so it is considered as the cultural land. On the other hand, norther colonies is considered as religious and spiritual.
