Sonata form is one of the oldest form of musical structure that came into existence in the 18th century which also the early classical period of music. Sonata form is also known as the first movement form because it actually is associated with the movement of various western musical instruments. The sonata form is divided into three parts namely the exposition, development and recapitulation, basically it also consists of an introduction phase as well but that is applicable for a tempo that is slow. Although the introduction does no play a major role in the structure of the form and the general or basic setup consists of the first section which is exposition followed by the contrasting section which is development and then finally the repetition of the first section so to sum up the parts can be depicted as M - W - M.
