In animals engineered to lack an innate immune system, their adaptive arm can't contain an infection. Why not?

Answer #1

Innate immunity Is something already present in the body ..i.e physical barriers and nk cells i.e natural killer cells .Adaptive immunity refers to antigen specific immune response.and is created in response to exposure to a foreign substance once activated against a specific type of antigen.the immunity remains throughout the life.Adaptive immune system is composed of B cells and T cells.

It does this posting two types of changes on the phagocyte surface that activate the adaptive immune system.this alerts the adaptive immune system and allows cells know as T cells to recognise an infected cell.

This part of immune system is activated when the innate immune response is insufficient to control an infection..A combination of dendritic cells link the innate and adaptive immune responses.

For bacteria from your skin to cause an overt infection, it has to evade several layers of the immune response. The innate immune system clears most infections before they reach the level necessary for adaptive immunity. 1. Discuss the cells and effector molecules involved, as well as the kinetics of this innate response. 2. When the innate immune system fails to completely clear an infection, the adaptive immune system is activated. How and where does the adaptive immune system get...

Draw a f low chart to describe the innate and adaptive immune defenses provided when a human host is exposed to a bacterial pathogen. Be sure to discuss phagocytes, the complement system ( both systems are activated here), TLRs, inflammation, APC, Th cells, B cells, plasma cells, memory cells, antibody’s an d their effector functions, MHC . Adaptive immunity has several features that distinguish it from innate immunity. Specificity in that each adaptive immune response is induced by a particular antigen, or surface feature that generates an antibody. An innate immune response might be stimulated by a PAMP, while an adaptive immune response is stimulated by a single feature of a bacteria. In addition, cells of adaptive immunity, B and T cells, are allowed to proliferate under certain conditions to mount a defense, this feature is clonality...
