Discuss one or more possible conversations with a workplace (bully, aimed at managing the situation productively and identify the strategies used)

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Some of the possible ways to reply to a bully would be:

  • "I do not like the way you talk to me. I would like the conversation to be more dignified and appropriate. "
  • "Your behavior is unacceptable and I would like you to stop doing this."
  • "You are huting me and I do not like to be treated this way."

It is not always a good idea to confront a bully. The best way would be to gather evidence and report it to the seniors. If your boss is the bully, it is better to report it to his boss. If the highest authority in the company is bullying you, then there is no point in working there, getting stressed out and eroding your confidence.

More often than not, the person who is bullying does not know that he is doing so. So, telling them how their behavior is hurting you can solve the problem. But if they do not change their behavior even after this, then it is better to report them.
