Answer: The two major forces at play in population ecology theory of diffusion are the size of the population and the population density. These factors defined the speed and the amount of diffusion will take place. However, the most important among these two for the population ecology theory of diffusion is the population density factors.
This approach is the right way to look at how does the viral infection is spreading, as we know that the speed of diffusion is higher if the population density is high, similarly the spread of virus among per million of people will be higher in areas which are densely populated. However total number of infection will be determined by the size of the population. Government intervention are also planned while keeping these two factors in mind.
