One HR manager recently got a thank you note on her iPhone that said "Thx 4 the Iview!" The manager had like the candidate in the interview, but after getting this note, she put him in in the reject pile. Why do you think she rejected the candidate? Was that fair? Should "textspeak" be considered acceptable workplace communication? Explain.
Answer) I think she rejected the candidate because of his immature and too casual approach. The HR manager represents a formal corporate culture and wants Employees who are equally professional. This message showed the candidate's immaturity and lack of seriousness to the job. The HR manager is not a Friend of his whom he can talk to informally , he should have maintained that professional ethicates.
I dont think that is fair, though this was the mistake from the candidates's side , yet to neglect him without giving a warning is not fair according to me. Maybe the candidate is a fresher, and do not know about the formal ethicates ,so to judge him on a text and neglect him is not right.
Textspeak communication could be considered within a team or colleagues as the bonding of the team actually improves productivity and if the collegeaus bond informally together well using textspeak Communication, it will eventually increase team work but I think while talking to senior mangers or officer's ,it is better to keep formal Communication as it maintains the formal attitude towards work and avoids lineage. If with the senior managers also text Communication is used, people will become more casual, which would affect the work.
THANK YOU.
