Whatever you call it, this short pitch is your chance to introduce yourself to a potential employer, investors, networking partners, etc. This is your answer to the question, "Tell me about yourself?" If you only have 30 seconds, every word counts. You must be clear and concise and goal oriented. You may use this when calling to ask about job postings, or when meeting recruiters at job fairs, or as the opening to an interview. You need to know it, practice it, deliver it with a natural ease. Assignment: Research good elevator speech tips and craft your own Personal Commercial. This short speech should be directed towards the job opening that you used when calling my office and creating your resume and cover letter. Pretend that you have been granted the interview for the position, you are in my office, we have just sat down and I say "Tell me about yourself." Aim for 80-100 words. but practice this out loud so that you know it would be between 30-45 seconds. You would be speaking this in a normal situation, but for this assignment it will be written, so check your spelling, grammar, punctuation carefully. I will be grading on content and mechanics.
