Conducting interviews-this interests me because I believe learning how to conduct an effective interview is extremely important. I am interested to learn about all the barriers there are in effective interviews.

Conflict management-this topic interests me because I believe it is good to know how to handle conflict in the work place. It is going to be interesting to learn about the relationship between communication and conflict. To learn strategies in conflict resolution is rewarding.

Intercultural managerial communication-This topic I find to be very interesting to me. I like to learn about different cultures and I believe to have an ethical and positive work place we should know about the different cultures. I believe knowing the nonverbal sensitivity like how to greet someone from a specific culture or space and touching.

Two topics from this course that are least interesting to me

Making presentations-The reason I chose this topic to be least interesting to me is because I have a heard time standing up in front of people doing a speech. I do find this topic interesting to learn about effective ways on how to do a presentation. I just have no interest on doing one. I do not find any joy in standing up in front of a lot of people. I get tongue twisted and I feel like I am not making any sense.

I honestly could [AU1] not find another topic in this course that I would find to not be interesting. I went over the topics many times but could not find one that I thought would not be interesting.

Reflecting on the real-world event and how I believe it does relate to this course

     In [AU2] April of 2017 there was a report done on communications skills and how it is critical to someone’s effectiveness at work and therefore the success of your career. This report focuses on engaging and what to do to improve your professional communication. I believe this relates to this course fully. This article focuses on steps that they give us as tools to use on how to be an effective communicator. The article is about someone that would want to be in a management position or someone that already is in a management position. It gives you tools to better your skills that are critical to your effectiveness at being successful at your career or your work place. There are factors that you need to take into consideration to ensure that you don’t just get your idea across at work, but that you are being informative and engaging in your communication. The tools that they use as key points in this article are; body language, the different communication styles, being a good listener, to know when to communicate, and to know what method to use. I believe this article touches base on every content that we have in our book.
