Telemedicine is term used to describe the medical services being provided at a distance. The term was coined in the year 1970. This helps in health care access and health information even in remote areas where medical care is minimal.

In countries with low income , telemedicine cuts off the rate and is applied in specialist care, referral hospitals, tertiary hospitals .

Also telepathology includes video conferencing the pathological reports , teledermatology , teleradiology also includes the inclusion of audio, video , text and e-mail of information, reports and follow up.

It also avoids the varying diagnosis and also improves the clinical management, preventing complications, improving the quality of health.

Telemedicine also provides the worldwide access along with cost effectiveness , quality and effectiveness cutting the cost making it cost effective.
