The company Shell started implementing a lot of changes during the year 2004. The company faced a lot of troubles in connection with the oil reserve crisis and as a result, the price of the company plunged too much in the market. In addition to this, the company has to encounter the unexpected departure of its chairman Sir Philip Watts. The new chairman of the company Jeroen van der Veer introduced a lot of changes to transform the organization. He identified some standardized processes to introduce changs but many of the company's operating units were very much hesitant in accepting the changes being introduced by him. But due to the unflinching determination of the chairman and his team, the intended changes were successfully implemented and it resulted in improving the functioning of the company.

The change implementation at the Shell company was very much successful. It is evident from the improvement of the functioning of the organization. It helped the company to overcome the oil reserve crisis. The company could regain the market value of its share to a great extend.
