The New studies suggests that aspirin will not prolong life or prevent disability in the elderly. Instead it poses a serious risk as it increases the risk of bleeding in the brain and gastrointestinal tract.Lower dose aspirin therapy beneficial to cardiovascular system preventing blood clots in the heart. But due to long term term use in the elderly and also due to its overusage, the effects of dementia and memory impairements lead to internal bleeding in a few cases, as a side effect of this drug and sudden silent death was reported. It results in ethical or legally charged situation.
