This causes infection if the epiglottis >as a result can lead to redness ,tenderness and swelling >leads to sore throat >the immune system reacts to fight back the infection >elevated body temperature >if this prolongs the symptoms like difficulty in breathing, risk of aspiration due to blocking of the inflamed epiglottis ,inability to speak and drooling occurs
