1. What does PCP stand for

2. What is preventative care

Answer #1

1. In nursing PCP stands for the primary care physician or the primary care providers, who serve as the healthcare professional having their practice on the general medicine. They are the first line care providers in the case of any disease or illness after accomplishing primary health screening and thus reduce the chances of further chronic conditions of any disease.

2. Preventative care refers to the prophylactic actions or measures taken to mitigate or terminate the chances of disease in future, thus these focus to prevent the disease, rather than its cure. It includes various environmental, lifestyle and dietary factors for the prevention of the disease. For the example taking chloroquine, cleanliness, removing stagnant water, are the preventive measures in case of malaria.
