There are some steps in the traditional vaginal
hysterectomy that may be done laproscopically. They are as
follows:-
- A laproscope may be introduced through a small
abdominal incision to view the pelvic structures such as uterus,
ovaries, fallopian tube, ligaments of uterus, etc. and thus guide
the removal of uterus through vaginal route.
- Detachment of the uterus from the ligaments that
attaches it to the other pelvic structures by the help of
laproscopic tools.
- Detachment of bladder from uterus.
- Clamping, cutting, and ligation of uterine
arteries.
- Clamping, cutting, and ligation of sacro-uterine and
paracervical ligaments.
- Clamping and ligation of round and ovarian
ligaments.
- Reconstruction of pelvic floor.
