Demonstrate understanding of effects on other organs and systems; this may include psychosocial issues.
Hodgkin lymphoma can be defined as a type of cancer in the lymphatic system.
It affects the immune system and may spread or metastatise to rest of the systems or organs related to the lymphatic system. A person becomes more prone to getting infections than someone without the disease as the immune system is affected.
Swelling occurs in the lower or upper body due to blockage of lymoh fluids or blood by the cancerous cells.
Jaundice (liver), pain in bones (bone marrow), weakness (nerves and muscles), or breathing difficulties (lungs) can also be present depending upon the presence of cancer cells in the body.
The psychosocial issues of Hodgkin's Lymphoma are also huge. Patients with self-reported energy loss more likely report depression with less interest in sexual activity and problems with fertility.
