Answer #1

Interoperability is the capability of different software applications and IT systems to communicate; to exchange data effectively, consistently, and accurately; and to use this information. Interoperability in healthcare makes it easier to share patient data among different medical service providers. Healthcare is made more efficient with the help of interoperability. Redundancy in any patient and other healthcare information can be avoided. This also helps specialists to communicate quickly and refer the patient to the apt one. The quick accessibility of patient information by different providers through interoperability helps the patient movement between different healthcare facilities. Healthcare system interoperability also provides a holistic view of patient information and promotes value-based care. So healthcare interoperability is a critical issue and a challenge.
