Say exactly what you mean. Don't use exaggerations and
sarcasm.
Your facial expressions should be in accordance with what you
are trying to say.
If the child doesn't understand what you are saying, repeat
your statement. Simply whatever you are saying. Example - Keep the
book down or keep the book down on the table.
Justify your statements to the child. In other words, explain
to the child the consequences of not listening to the instruction.
Example - Don't cross the road, a bus may hit you.
Teach the child to listen when someone is speaking and to talk
when its his/her turn
