The healthcare policy making in the U.S. are affected by following ways
They gather the specific information regarding the health care and they will submit their results and conclusions to the legislators in order to influence public health policy in one way or another.
In other words an interest group always maintain and works in a diligent and informed manner so that they can maintain a diverse and well-informed argument that can influence public health policy.
The main role of interest group in policy making are
1) To influence the health care policy
They achieve this through their representatives.They work towards the goal of lobbying. Lobbying involves talking to people in powerful positions and influence them on our on means to achieve their goals .The interest groups avoid resistance from the public by several ways because they are always viewed as individuals who work behind the scenes to influence legislators rather than playing upfront.

2)Representing diverse groups in society
Citizen vote for their representatives.Once the representative get elected they then work for these interest groups .The Interest group acheive this by influencing the local diverse group of society .

3)Being the voice of regular citizens
The interest group considers themselves for protecting the interest of diverse groups of the population.When they influences policy,they feel like they are acting as the voice of regular citizens. On other hand we can say that regular citizens who do not get the chance to enter lobby are influenced and silenced by their policy .
