Reasons for success of some interest groups in influencing policy making are:

  • Closeness or proximity of interest groups with the civil servants,ministers ; this proximity helps the interest groups to influence the legislation during policy making.
  • The larger the interest group and the more intense are they in their emphasis on the targeted goals more they are able to influence policy making
  • Financial ground of interest group also play an important role in influencing policy making,the influence group with strong financial resources are able in funding the lobbyist in their favor and also campaign their motives to influence the policy making.
  • Interests group who are able to cultivate public opinion in their favor and also use media for this can influence the policy making.
