Answer #1

The blood flows to different parts of the body and when it stops carrying the blood to the particular organ it may be obstructed. The obstruction could be due to many reason and could be in heart, brain or other areas of the body. The obstructions are known as thrombus which is made up of cholestrol, calcium depositions or plagues and could be attached to inner lining of the artery and obstruct the flow to particle area which gets deprived of blood and oxygen. The obstruction cn have different symptoms:

1. blockage in heart could lead to shortness of breath, dizziness and fatigue. The arteries supplying heart are generally occluded.

2. there could also be blockage in legs. Thrombosis, may laed to cramps, pain.

3. also if any artery supplying to brain is obstructed may lead to hemilegia, hemiparesis in short paralysis or brain death.

The flow rate (F) of blood through a blood vessel describes the volume of blood that passes through the vessel per a unit of time. Flow rate is affected by physical variables like the resistance of the blood vessel (R) and the pressure gradient within the blood vessel (∆P). Which one of the following statements correctly summarizes the relationships between these variables? *Hint: F = ∆P/R Select one: a) Flow rate is equivalent to the pressure gradient multiplied by the...
