According to the Poiseuille’s equation, blood flow is give by:

and Resistance to blood flow is given be:

where, ΔP represents the difference in pressure and r is the radius of blodd vessel.

Thus, blood flow is directly proportional to fourth power of radius while resistance to blood flow is inversely proportional to it. Hence decreasing the radius will lead to decrease in blood flow and increase in resistance to blood flow. Thus, blood pressure will increase.
