Answer #1

Sodium nitroprusside is belonged to class of antihypertensive drug. Mainly used to treat very high blood pressure to get immediate control. Also used in congestive heart failure and to control bleeding during surgery.

In patient with increased peripheral vascular resistance and heart failure, nitroprusside causes reduction in peripheral resistance, increase in cardiac output and reduced left ventricular filling pressure.

Dobutamine is a positive ionotrop used to treat heart failure during cardiac surgery,in septic or cardiogenic shock.

Especially in patients with congestive cardiac failure, the dobutamine and nitroprusside improve cardiac output. Nitroprusside is better to restore both atrial and ventricular pump functions. Echo Doppler monitoring during infusion will give relevant information regarding the clinical treatment
