Anemia is defined as the condition in which there is a deficiency of healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen to the organs for meeting the various metabolic needs. Haemoglobin is a pigment found in blood which is combined with oxygen to form oxyhemoglobin.Without hemoglobin ,cardiac output will increase upto 20 times for meeting the resting metabolic needs.In patients with anemia the arterial oxyhemoglobin saturation reduces and results in inadequate tissue oxygen supply. The clinical features exhibited are shortness of breath,palness,fatigue,weakness, palpitations and chest pain
