Mahsa has been on stress leave for several weeks following the suicide of a client. Mahsa was the staff member to find the client dead and this has badly affected her.
Mahsa had debriefing at the time and has been under the care of her GP and counsellor but still feels a long way from better. Whilst her treatment is working and she is gradually getting better she feels like she could benefit from some complementary health options.

Her counsellor and GP are supporting her in this.

The three main complementary health options for stress they are us follows

1.YOGA

Yoga emphasizes the unity of mind and body.Stress are the major effects of modern lifestyle changes.Yoga is a mental and intellectual excercise that improves the health as well as the quality of life. Yoga can reduce the negative emotions, increase the positive thoughts thus help in balancing mental health. Yoga improves the psychological conditions for monitoring and improving stress.

Pranayama is a yogic practice reduces the sympathetic activity and improve stress.Suryanamaskra is a yogic practice is effective in providing mental relaxation .Thus yoga plays a major role in improving the stress level and a best complementary treatment for psychological well being.

2. AROMATHERAPY

Aromatherapy is used as a natural therapy to reduce stress. Aromatherapy is a method of inhaling the scent of essential oils to improve the psychological well being. Aromatherapy work by stimulating the smell receptors in the nose which can send impulses to the central nervous system.

Lavender oil is the one of the most essential oil used in aromatherapy for stress reduction. Lavender 3% oil is used for reducing work related stress by spraying on the clothes. Lavender oil has an excellent calming effect on the body and reduces the stress .Other essential oils used in aromatherapy are jasmine oil, lemon etc.

3. HYPNOTHERAPY

Hypnotherapy is a practice that is used to assist a person in the altered level of consciousness called trance.During hypnotherapy a person is deeply relaxed and focused. Hypnotherapy helps to find out the root cause of the problem when dealing with stress.Hynotherapy helps to get control over the stress and to fill your mind with positive emotions.

The main benefits of hypnotherapy includes stress reduction, buildup of confidence, regaining of emotional balance, increased assertiveness, better relationships and anxiety reduction.

These are the main complementary health options for treating stress.
