  • In the pregnancy there are three trimester. The first trimester is considered dangerous for the defects in development due to the drug induction.
  • The drug can easily criss the placental barriers through the process of diffusion.
  • In the last trimester, the drug gets absorbed by the fetus.
  • The FDA has categories the safe categories which includes A, D, X. In the category A, there is no risk for the human fetus. Whereas in the category D there is fetal risk, in the category X fetal abnormalities are being found. So these drugs should not be given to the pregnant women.
