Answer: The major difference between the monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats includes that the monounsaturated fats are a kind of unsaturated fats in whose structure it contains only one double bond. These are liquid at the room temperature. For example: Olive oil, canola oil.

Whereas in the case of the polyunsaturated fats there are more than two double bonds. It is found in the foods such as salmon, vegetable oils etc.

The benefits of eating monounsaturated fats reduces the high cholesterol levels, reduces the cardiac disease as well as risk of the diabetes.

The consumption of too much saturated fatty acids lead to increase the risk of the diseases such as cardiovascular disease, poor health, increased obesity.

Omega 3 fatty acids have double bonds between carbon atoms and is polyunsaturated fatty acids which are mostly found in the fishfish like tuna, nuts, flax seeds etc.
