Why should a poll be scientific rather than informal?

Informal polls are mostly inaccurate and this is because a proper methodology is not designed to understand the method of polling where the sample size is not taken out of the lot and it might not be evenly distributed where chances of bias can be very high but when you come to the case of scientific poles this is not the case because the sample technique is evaluated in the sampling is done properly so that there wouldn't be any sampling bias in the selection of the sample from the population so that more accurate results can popup due to the poll and that is the reason why one must always choose a poll to be scientific rather than informal
